Ok, thanks... I will check some out. Not been a fan of the Passat in the past... it always felt and drove like a big car (not a good thing in my book)... but not tried the latest ones. Octavia/Superb might be an option...

Edit: this month's AutoExpress just arrived and there's a small 'triple test' on used estate cars... they've compared Superb, Passat and Avensis. The Superb came out on top, Passat second and Avensis 3rd. Didn't much think about Toyotas but I've always been impressed with Japanese reliability... it's always trumped European cars... even if they're not always the most engaging drives.

Another thing I've neglected to mention is that my office car park has incredibly tight parking spaces... they're quite narrow and many require a lot of tight maneuvering... so while I'm looking for an estate car... it can't be too wide and a tight turning circle is a big plus.

Yeah, thanks, I'd seen that one. Over-priced and could never get excited about a plain silver car anyway. If I do get another 75/ZT it would have to be from another enthusiast who had done all the usual jobs, cared for it, had full service history/receipts etc and also be in a colour I like... from the standard paint finishes that would mean firefrost red, ignition blue or solar red... although would prefer a monogram colour. Realistically I don't think I'll ever find one.

I too am not a fan of silver despite owning one in the past.
Good cars often come up, theres been some cracking ones on some of the fb groups and some on gumtree, I guess its a waiting game really, but just how long will you wait?
