Central locking and alarm problem :(

Hi all, i am new here and going to be cheeky and ask for help already...
i have a 75 2003 1.8 auto saloon,
The key seems to lose coding and will not lock the vehicle (very intermitant, usually after a short ignition cycle/journey) ALSO the EP warning is on when the key does lose its coding? But never appears when key fully functional,
I do the key sync process when the key goes bump, and it syncs everytime without issue
I have done the basics: battery reset,fuses,fob battery replaced, checked plenum and footwell for water.
Also the red led on the dash does not flash, and the alarm doesnt seem to work HOWEVER the car superlocks also if i press the centre console button when i lock myself in the car with the fob the alarm will go off! Also if i lock the car with the bonnet open and press the bonnet switch the alarm goes off! So clearly the alarm is working! Trying to open the door with the window open/locked doesnt set it off either, again no flashing led atall. any advice will be very much appreciated as i'm scratching my head with this one ��
