Went over to Summit garage in Wolverhampton today, he said a chap turned up in a black one a couple of days ago, said it looked like a Nissan Almera with ZT alloys....

Sounds like the one autocar tested. Had 18" apex wheels on it.

I'm not convinced. If it's true the Chinese love all things British then why didn't they style it as a full British car. What they've come up with doesn't look right to my eyes. Sticking a western marque on an Asian car, a bit like how they stuck Chevy badges on Daewoos.

Wasn't this designed here by MG Rover people?...

I heard that too mate but surely their brief was to design it for the Chinese market. I just think there's something very generic about the design.

The headlamps are an important part of a car's "face". These ones look like they don't know what shape they want to be.

I like the interior though, certainly in the pictures it's looking nice to me.

Would agree 100%. Tehre was one parked on a neighbours drive last week (black with apexes). My first thoughts were "nice wheels" and thats as far as those nice thoughts went. Certainy inoffensive but not especially nice in any way
