Default Check engine light not turning on

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the check engine light.
When I turn the key to position II, the check engine light don't appear on the dash.
But, I run a speedo lights test and here the bulb it's working:

Maybe the previous owner cut some cables and the check engine light will not turn on?
The ECU it's dry, never been to swimming lessons.

Unplug your MAF sensor and then turn the engine on.... does the Light then come on?

Nope, still off.
Maybe it's a fuse? A broken wire? Something it's blocking the ECU for that start up check. The immobiliser has something to do with that?

Also, the seatbelt warning light doesn't light up, this might have something in common?

The earlier diesels don't illuminate the check engine light as a self test with key to position II.

Only the later versions bring the light on when you unplug the MAF Pete.

I thought I read that somewhere but didn't want to post it as I wasn't 100% sure.

Thanks for help. I thought something was wrong with the ECU. Didn't know that earlier versions don't take a self test for check engine.
