Guide studs for gearbox refit
In this video Colin has used a pair of screw-in 'guide studs' to help remove/refit the gearbox - he's called them dowel pegs. I'd say the ones he's used are 4 or 5 inches long overall. Does anyone know where I can buy some?
NB. The bolts that go into those holes are all M12 - they're nos. 1,2, 4 here. TIA. |

I bought a length of the correct size studding ( bar ) at my local iron mongers and cut it into suitable lengths.---
That way you end up with exactly what you want. |

Do you mean it was threaded all the way along its length?
I was think of something more like this where only the first inch or so is threaded, the rest is smooth. |

Yes, threaded all the way along. In alignment this will make no difference as the OD ( outside diameter ) is virtually the same as an unthreaded bar.
It also is handy if you need to run a nut along it as a stop to further movement.--- |

Ok, I'll just chop up one of the threaded bars I used for the rear subframe. I can't be bothered to keep searching anyway. I'm getting nowhere fast with this car - a whole week down the drain just on the broken gear cable fiasco (and it still isn't sorted).
