one two wire, one six wire.

This is assuming you have a FBH of course.

The faulty PCB in the FBH itself can be the cause of some, and more, of the errors you are telling us of, as it is linked to the car wiring loom K-BUS circuit , that a lot of other components share.

You can also remove fuse 8 from the underbonnet fuse box too, which is for the FBH also.

Hi

I've only disconnected plug C0926 - should I unplug both?

Yes, give it a try and see if it helps, it is the one with k-bus wire !!

It wont hurt anything disconnected.

No adverse effects from a battery reset, which does as it describes. But before you do, make sure to take a note of any radio / cd player etc codes , so that you can re enter them when the battery is re connected.

Also as Colvert has said, these cars electrical systems are very sensitive to battery voltage, check you battery is in good order, and charging.

Thanks snagger

The battery was checked by RAC when I called them out the other day. Checked out in perfect order.

I'll try the battery reset and update this thread with the results.

Default After battery reset

I have just done the battery reset by disconnecting the negative terminal for 30 mins and reconnecting.

The climate control is still showing an error and now I can't lock the car.

It opens fine, but won't lock remotely, or with the internal rocker button. Using the key manually in the driver's door only locks the driver's door. I have to go to each door and physically lock them.

I seem to be introducing new problems.

Incidentally, prior to the battery reset I tried plugging in the FBH (if that's what I've got) again, it's not working at all now. Should I be worried about this?

Regards

It's now been confirmed as the FBH - you owe me a cookie.

Remove both plugs from the fbh, it should not be working at all this time of year, if it is, it is faulty.!!!!

By default, when the ambient temp reaches + 5 C or less, it will power itself up and run, heating the engine coolant up, and switching itself off at a predetermined temperature. PROVIDING IT HAS NO FAULTS.

IF it is coming on at any other time IE, above this temperature, or opening a door, or operating another switch inside the car , and you experience weird electrical gremlins, this indicates it's PCB board is faulty, and needs repairing, a club member on here called french mike is able to do this, should it be needed.

No need to do a battery reset after you have pulled both FBH plugs out.The FBH must be disabled it is faulty, as it is known to cause electrical problems.

Try it with both plugs removed, not plugged in !, also remove fuse 8 from the underbonnet fuse box, which is for FBH also.

The k-bus wiring system is connected to multiple instruments and devices inside the car, a fault with any of them usually effects something else connected to it also!.The fbh is one of them.

If it does not cure your problems, do a search on here for k bus /faults

Hi Snagger

I have disconnected both plugs and I think all the symptoms have disappeared. Everything seems to be back to normal.

Looks like your diagnosis is spot on - many thanks and much appreciated.

Now I've got to sort out a problem where the climate control isn't working when the car is stationary - starts to smell bad too. Will do some searches

Cheers

The first reply to your post from myself also suggested unplugging the FBH.

Hi DMGRS

Yes, apologies for that - when I saw that the motor had stopped running after pulling just one of the plugs, I left it like that - then Snagger explained the reasoning behind it, then it made more sense to pull both of them.

Thanks go to you too

No worries, just hoped you hadn't skipped over it, that's all. Glad you have it sorted, and thanks to Snagger for going into much more depth.
Hopefully it'll help others with similar issues too.
