Default Just bought...

I've just bought a 2004 (54-reg) Tourer SE CDTI Connoisseur, after 10 years with a 2002 Club Tourer which I've have loved. Any special points about this newer car from users' experiences would be welcome. It carries the Siemens-VDO CD413X radio. How can I acquire a manual for this?

The cars are pretty much the same, just a few cosmetic changes have been made on the facelift cars, the bumpers and interior trim design.I thought a section is included in the later handbook covering the head unit.

Most,or perhaps all of your concerns would be answered using the forums search facility.

I think I have a VDO pdf of a "user manual" on my computer at work. It only extends to a couple of pages. However, if you are interested, will try and track it down for you tomorrow.

Regards,

Dave

Hi
A little over a year ago I bought a similar vehicle, a 2005 version. One niggle you may experience is vibration during acceleration through the 1500-2000rpm range. I tracked this down to the roof cross beam between the B-posts, ie above the driver's head, where it vibrates against the roof panel. Speaking with other late-tourer owners, it's not uncommon in these later cars (it wasn't an issue with my Mk1). When I have time I'm going to look into dropping the headlining and examining. Otherwise I've been more than happy with my purchase.

If Dave (Airdale) hasn't found his pdf file, I've got the 2005 Owner's Handbook Supplement of operating instructions for all the standard fitment audio units. I could scan the relevant pages and e-mail them to you, if you like.

Hi Robert,

Appreciate that immensely. Haven't been able to find it--which is a bit strange for me! Normally, careful about filing user manuals.

Dave
