Just fitted the first first of the drop links. They look OK to me and reasonably well made. It has indeed cured the problem of the low speed clonk, so thanks for the advice everyone.

Out of interest I did need to grind a few mm off the top screw thread as I could not get my ring spanner off once the nut was done up. As it happens the thread is slightly longer than the original that came off the car, no no harm done. Also the new ones come with nylon thread lock nuts anyway.
