Andrew, I know what you mean, mine was checked before they replaced the brushes & all was ok. I think 2 speed fan might be the way to go but until I can narrow the fault to the relay/pcb Or a fault with the car.

I've just had a brain ****. My fan hasn't worked since I bought the car in Feb, ergo the fault must lie with the relays/pcb. Two of the brushes were 1/3rd the length of the others considerably shorter but not completely worn out. Although it could be the car wiring.
