BBC app sign in?

BBC has been my go to news for most of my adult life but I have removed the app from my phone. I do not want to sign in to see the news. I am no longer on facebook due to it tracking me and targeting ads at me. Do I really need a smartphone any more? Should I dig out my old Nokia? Am I just a grumpy old ****?

There was a piece on BBC news about how long people spend on their phones. They spoke to the guy who invented the mobile phone, the reporter said she spent about five hours a day on her phone to which the guy replied, five hours . . . . get a life
