Loud crack sound when opening drivers door
When I open the drivers door I am getting a loud crack sound.
The same sound as if the door or wing has been hit and the front edge of the door is hitting the wing or chassis. I have tried WD40 on the top arm that stops the door opening to far but that has not worked. Do I need to remove the door card and membrane to access anything inside the door? Any tips on solving is appreciated. thank you macafee2 |

It’s the door check strap coming loose or seizing up, check the two 10mm headed nuts that hold it to the A pillar and get some grease in there!

WD40 is NOT a lubricant. It is a water repellant. Try some proper oil or grease on the hinges etc.

Water Dispersant.
Useful in the old days of ignition distributor caps, should have pased into history when they fell out of use. |

D*mn, beat me to it I was going to guess T110 - didn't think of the smaller lump. Pistons look higher comp than normal...? PS you have to get the grease further in than you can see
