Red face Seat switch

I'm out in Spain and Rover 75 spares are difficult to come by.

A friend of my wife managed to break the electric seat switch(forward & backwards switch)(tilt is ok).

I have investigated the problem and i have found that it is not just a switch, it is a switch pack it is very difficult to disassemble. Might be a seat out job.

This is not a memory seat. Its a module with only the front/back - tilt facility. 2 switches.

Will the module from a BMW 5 series replace like for like, as they seem similar?

Has anyone got a spare module they'd be willing to sell me?

Thanks.

they are difficult to get hold of over here.!!! there are some about but people snap them up when found. Car wash morons usually do the damage pressing on them to pull the seats back without the ignition on. thats what screwed mine !! they do come up on ebay and parts finder websites (vehicle recycling sites are scrapyards) they all post overseas. google online parts finder. for uk. They are about but you may be lucky on here...

Even more difficult to find if the car is a lhd as the switch packs are different to the UK versions.

Thanks for the pic. Mine doesn't have the up/down arrows on each end?
Mine is registered on 15/03/2000. LHD, Diesel, manual connie.
Is the LHD passenger switch the same as a RHD drivers module? Can the module/switch be repaired?
Any help is always welcomed. Thanks.

Question Seat switch?

Can anyone help me please.

My Module doesn't have the up/down arrows on each end?

My car is registered on 15/03/2000. LHD, Diesel, manual connie.

Is the LHD(EURO) passenger switch the same as a RHD (UK)drivers module?

Can the module/switch be repaired?

Will a module from a BMW 5 series do the job. It looks similar. Is it a straight swap?

Any help is always welcomed. Thanks.

Hello Stan,

Is the switch pack you're seeking for your (LHD) passenger seat?
The up/down arrows on Arctic's photo are for seat height on the driver's side. The passenger side electric seat has only fore & aft movement plus recline.

No, I doubt that it will. The RHD (UK) switch pack will incorporate seat height.

That depends what's wrong with it. Has it suffered internal damage or is it just a broken knob? You'll need to remove it, open it and make an assessment.

I'd say that your only hope is a scrapped LHD 75/ZT.

I was a bit alarmed by your post Stefan regarding car wash damage, Fortunately the ZT doesnt have to have the ignition on for the seats to operate-its not often Im that lucky. Chris S.

Question Seat switch

I've taken the plunge. I couldn't source a LHD 75 anywhere with electric seats. So i had nothing to lose.

I removed the seat (eventually) and then i could access the module.

I managed to remove the module and what a very poor design i found inside. The switch was broken internally. The matchstick yellow pin was rolling around in the module. The black switch was broken off. M11 on the circuit board was naked and obviously broken. M12 was ok.

Can i source a replacement switch to replace M11 on the circuit board anywhere? Or can i source a replacement LHD circuit board module?

Many thanks.
