Recently did a little ride out to pick something up, so local travel 30mph roads, mileage 7.7 showing 47mpg
1 Average mph 16.8 2 Not bad for an Auto knocking about.

MB is God.... He nose his way around a kettle element that one.
EGR by pass does increase air flow as th gubbins within can restrict. Polishing does help though..

Mine doesn't. I live in the middle of nowhere, hilly, bendy and by the time I've got to town, about 4 miles, the engine hasn't had chance to warm up properly. That has to wait until the return journey.
