Default Rattle on the front

Hi so going over any potholes and I got a rattle off the front o/s so nephew had a look and I replaced the track rod end and the multiple rattle changed to a single clunk so looking for help on what to check now. In past couple of months it’s had new lower arm and bush, shocker and drop link, so any ideas ?

Recheck the droplink.
Some of them have been known to fail very early. What brand was it?

i had this twice on my KV6. the lower arm pinchbolt although tight , was not clamping correctly. in fact it had elongated the pin mounting hole in the hub. the pin will drop onto the cross through retaining bolt , up and down over bumps. whilst on the car its difficult to feel . my only solution in my case was renew the hub. this is a known problem on these cars , but sometimes the lower bolt can be torqued up higher and it will clamp. sixty torque has been successful for some people but no higher. its at your own risk if you do do this. its your choice. mine torqued up ok , but came loose again sadly. ...

just unbolt it and check for play at the joints. they are only a ball and socket affair. should not be any play on it, just movement to allow the balljoint to turn.

Hi Stefan,

I've read of another similar experience. I went to the trouble of buying the genuine MGR bolt (RYG 101220) and nut (FX 110057). They're both flanged and described as M10 "deformed thread" Nylok; in other words incorporating two self-locking features. I used the official torque setting and I've had no problems.
