Washed and waxed ready to collect more pollen and blossom...

Sonax'd the scuttle panel back to black. Fitted a new power VIS motor and took her for a small test drive round the block.

Washed and waxed the TF too.

My son and myself tried to do the ZT a couple of weeks ago - it's already falling back down, due to some out of date glue!

If only we could find a colour to match the original - I would have another go.

Default head linning glue

I asked Wollies which type of glue to use, they sold me the one they recomend which will stand high in car tempratures and normal glues fail. Theirs will take temp's of up to 150F. On a tourer they say two cans should be sufficant.

Yesterday, drove just over 200 miles from Bath back to West Yorkshire, including a stop in Malvern, making over 400 miles for the weekend trip. Ran fantastic, thermostat I replaced over Christmas all still seems good and using no oil (though still only at 45k).

Making progress on the motorway, indicated 75-80 so realistically 70 or thereabouts (officer) returning 33.5 mpg, probably about right for the 2.5.

Also getting a slight, and it is so slight it’s hard to describe, harshness / vibration around the 1800/2000 rev mark. Has been discussed before including by me and I will need a project over the summer, so I think I am going to order new engine mounts. Haven’t had a close look at the bottom one, which seems to be the most likely cause of any vibration, but the top mounts look OK. That said, they are all now 21 years old and 8 months of my stop/start commute will have put some strain on them.

Got Kim started finally.
It turned out to be the engine relay in the under bonnet fuse box. Such a tight fit but when I pressed down I heard it click into place. Kim started first time
After shorting the starter motor I found the 100amp fuse was also blown. That is for the glow plugs.
Renewing the fuse didn't help tbh. It was the relay causing the problem. But what I want to know is, with it being such a tight fit how could it jiggle loose? and she started fine a few times after the last time she was mot'd, so I'm a tad bemused.

I entered the ZT-T in our big (600 cars) local British Car show last Saturday.
It was a beautiful sunny day in the park and I came away with a first in class plaque.
Sunday was a group drive up the Fraser Valley ending at Harrison Hot Springs for A BBQ and car display. The ZT-T ran flawlessly on the 200-ish km drive.
We spent the night in a truly terrible hotel but had schnitzel at an excellent German restaurant which made up for it. We stopped off at a 1950's diner for breakfast on the way home which finished off the weekend nicely.
