Default Rover 75 illuminated sun visor upgrade question ?

Sorry if it's been asked before but I have a 2003 pre facelift Rover 75 cdt 2.0 diesel and it has standard sun visors and the drivers one keeps falling off so thought while changing them I might upgrade to the illuminated ones. So question is will my car have the wiring tucked away and how difficult is it to do please ? Thanks in advance for any help & advice.

If it’s an early one, then it may well have the wiring in place already. Probably not if a later one...not entirely sure. Someone will come along that will know, I’m sure....

I did it with a '53 plate ZT, wiring was present.

The wiring complete with plug will be tucked away at the bottom of the A pillar!

HI Stuart
yes your car will have the wiring tucked away in each foot well, remove the little panel and you will find some wiring wrapped in some grey foam, the wiring will be purple and black.

Unwrap the wiring and route it up the side of the door jam and into the windscreen side panel through the corner of the roof liner into the sun visa.

I know that this is an old thread but just upgraded my visors and also could not find the wiring. My car has airbags but once I removed the A pillar trim I found the wiring just below the roof headliner plug but taped to the main harness.

I used a coat hanger to tease the wires from the tape as there was no access for hands and ran the cabling the way Rover would have run them.

I did the same on the passengers side but had no problems finding the wiring. I reshaped the trim clips back to what there would have been like before removal as they are no longer available.

I have also upgraded the seats to memory seats and added the sun blind and fog lights.

The upgrade was done as part of redoing the headlining.

Cheers Wayne

Hi Wayne.
Nice feeling when a job goes to plan, i wonder what your next job will be, rear blind maybe if you do not have one.
