Default Here we go again. Water ingress, help?

hi everyone. My poor 75 facelift saloon is leaking again. This time it appears to be coming in from the drivers side upper bulkhead. I only notice after particularly heavy rain and a little water sits near the boot switch. Ive taken the boot/bonnet panel off and can't find the source. Is the anything I can do to, A trace the peak and B seal the leak. Any suggestions. P
I dont have a sunroof and the heating/air con is all good.
Cheers
Dave

Have you checked the plenum chamber drain hidden underneath the brake servo Dave? If the rubber tube has been dislodged, rainwater could enter the cabin.

The plastic sockets for the scuttle clips. The "seal" deteriorates under the edges with age and they can allow water into the cabin. Reseal with a suitable goo.

Do you have a sunroof? If so then one of the drain pipes could be blacked at the bottom causing the water to get into the car

I think Ken may have the right guess the scuttle clips will let water in due to the felt type seal around them, remove the scuttle which means you need to remove the window wipers, once the scuttle as been remove you have two options remove the beige pocket that fit into the panel, taking note of the seal, when you reseat the pockets seal them with water proof sealant.

You could always purchase new pockets with new seals, but i think the above is better, once sealed replace the scuttle panel and window wipers, then double check the wiring in the area of the leak, (ie) the EWS, the the light light module for any water ingress.

PS i have added the link to the sunroof drains for those whom have a sunroof i note you do not.

Thank you everyone. Once again the power of the forum shows itself. I will check all of these areas of concern. I did recently remove my scuttle tray to clean and tidy and replace all new clips. I will also have a squint underneath at the plenum drain too.

Once again guys ... Thanks
