So yesterday 3 mechanics arrived in their Evo. Edgar, Mac and Jeffrey did the service okay, but have to return next weekend to replace the tailgate lock and the mechanism of one of the bi-folding mirrors sticking.

The parts: brake pads front and rear had to come from Japan, including delivery £188. The oil 5W 30 10L was £67, coolant oil filters long and short, air filter/cleaner everything came to £345 and Labour £100 but the guys said to pay them in full next week end after the work has been completed. The parts have already been paid for.

Even though the mechanics work for Kia, Labour is cheap in comparison to the UK I wonder what it would have cost in the UK at a garage.

This morning I am back behind the wheel since coming out of hospital and it will be a treat. I am taking the 4x4 in for wheel balancing and alignment checks. Hopefully that will be it for a while.

£100 labour, over here that probably 2.5 hours at an independent, less than an hour for Mercedez Benz as last I heard they were at £120 per hour.

Fingers crossed no more bills for a while Phil.

Cool

Morning everyone.

We have glorious sunshine.

Banana is now home and in need of a good clean. The garage that I now use is down a dusty Cornish lane.

Morning. Cloudy and cool again here.

Edinburgh is going to start trials of a full size single decker driverless bus running between Edinburgh and Fife. Nothing new about that, been on a lot of driverless buses, when I say driverless I mean there's someone behind the wheel but they don't acknowledge your existence when you get on or off . . . . why don't they get a job they like

Just back from the local Coop, milk and food for the girls . . . . its like bleedin' January out there, bitterly cold breeze coming straight from Norway.

I'd swear this fatigue/lack of energy is getting worse. The liver specialist thinks its down to the low hormone levels detected in a blood test and confirmed in a second, GP wanted a 2nd test as he didn't really believe the first one! Frustratingly I'm still waiting to hear anything from whatever department deals with that sort of stuff
