A word of caution.

Unless you live close enough to the actual premises of any web based battery supplier, you might find that their guarantee is of no practical use.

Couriers will carry battery's FROM a supplier, but not BACK TO them, even if you keep the original packaging.

Couriers want the volume business, but it is subject to very specific packaging agreements, carried out by the supplier. All vent tubes / holes being plugged, is one condition.

I found out the hard way, but in my case all ended well.
Need to look up who I dealt with, before giving a name, with details

To be continued.

Mike

What does "Lifetime" mean?

If it means the "Lifetime" of the battery then it's a very easy promise to keep. If the battery becomes duff then it's lasted its lifetime.

In their terms it says you can't transfer the rights to any other person. So, I guess that means once you sell the car the warranty stops?

I reckon the vast majority of cars etc. will be sold before the battery wears out.

Looks like they are based in Preston.

Without a full set of published T&Cs the offer of a lifetime warranty is meaningless.

Usually a warranty only covers manufacturing faults, not deterioration through use. Most battery failures after a couple of years are likely to be the result of use/misuse rather than a manufacturing fault.

My approach is always to buy a good quality battery - top of the range Varta, Bosch or Exide and to treat the battery as a consumable with a lifespan of 4-5 years.

I've only ever had one battery fail prematurely - about 12 months after purchase. It was a Lion brand that I purchased from Eurocarparts for the Lawnmower. Took it in and they just handed over a new one. Buying locally is the way to go if you wish to rely on in-warranty replacement.

I buy batteries from Tayna. They come highly recommended by others and having had a problem with one of my purchases from them, I was treated really well and the problem was resolved at no cost to me.

They offer an excellent range at competitive prices and use an overnight delivery service.

Statistically, you should not have any problems probably for the rest of your driving life.

There's always a silver lining!

I use "The Battery Guys" on line. The 5 year guarantee Bosch for our 75s cost less than £85 delivered, which is pretty good. Even my trusted mechanic couldn't match that, and still fitted it foc.
