Default Floods in Gloucestershire

Almost got stranded travelling home yesterday on the A40 east bound into Gloucester.
Luckily I was in the diesel with the higher air intake rather than the V6.
Lots of other cars stuck or abandoned, just drove at 3mph to reduce bow wave obviously other idiots trying to swamp everyone else by going too fast.

Lucky to get through. I'm waiting for more information from my daughter who lives near Cinderford.

It took me 4 hours from where Mum lives in Valley road Cinderford, normally only takes 45 minutes. Hopefully the levels will start to fall now the rain has stopped. I hope she makes it ok.

That's horrible. Sadly she has lost a load of personal possessions in a lockup unit, though I heard that from a relative. I have yet to speak to her

It was bad up this way too. My usual 30 min drive to work last night took over an hour, to be told to go home before it got any worse and I got stranded. Drive home took about 2 hours. Turned around at 1 point when the water was coming up over the bonnet, quickly stopped and put it in reverse.

Saw loads of vehicles stranded everywhere, even some of the major roads were closed, A14 closed between junctions 13 and 16, and 2 and 3. I think the matrix said part of the A1 was closed, A45 closed in a couple of places.

A little bit of a video from the afternoon on my way home from the Mot, before it got really bad:

I understand that the M50 was closed.
