2003 MG ZT-T 135 Manual Part Ex
Hi Everyone
Been a member since 2012 and have found this Club to be fantastic, it has helped me out with numerous problems and queries! It has however come to the time when I need to sell my ZT-T I have owned the car 3 and a half years, I am only the second owner from new, the former owner really knew how to look after a car and it had all the paperwork to show for it, I decided to carry on in the same vain, unfortunately this means nothing when it comes to Part Exchange. I was offered £500 which is a joke really however the car has 2 issues which I will list below. Apart from that, it has to be one of the most well looked after and tidy examples going hence the refusal at excepting £500! The car is as follows... MG ZT-T – August 2003 135bhp Manual Turbo Diesel in Le mans Green. - MOT July 2015, Tax Jan 2015 - Full Service History (fully stamped at 15k intervals or less has literally every single bit of paperwork going) - 129,600 miles – 8900 left until next service - Fully Loaded including Cruise Control and Xenon headlights -£400 (when new) Kenwood head unit with iPod controler - Full sized spare Alloy in boot - In Cotgrave, Nottingham - Just off the A46 - Please note, the Private plate will be removed before Sale Last serviced in July which had new front exhaust and Cat plus 2 new rear tyres, New Front Brakes and Pads in 2013, Rear Brakes and pads in 2012. Had a new brake master cylinder last year too. Body work is in great condition except a very small dent above the rear light. Now for 2 issues…. 1) Still on its original clutch, I commute 50 miles a day on a straight road with no traffic jams (except when there is a crash) So it has got very little use over the years. 2) Has a leaking fuel injector so has issues starting when warm, always gets there in the end but annoying. Have been given quotes to fix the above but to be honest they match what I feel is the value of the car so I have bought a new one, hopefully though it will be of interest to someone on here who can probably fix the problems and have a great car that will last for many years to come! So really what I am asking is was I mad to refuse the offer from the garage, if so would anyone be interested and how much for? I am after a Grand to be honest? Many Thanks Luke Last edited by luke_upton25; 23rd October 2014 at 19:43.. Reason: Pictures enlarged |

Looks like a beautiful car, and a true bargain for someone, at that price!

Clutch?
So are you saying it needs a clutch now or you're just concerned that it will need one soon?
What cost have you been quoted for sorting the injector issue? |

The Clutch works just fine, the car is still used on a daily basis, picking up the new one next week. I am just aware it is still on its original so it won't have too much life left in it.
As for the injectors, I was quoted £500 by a former MG Rover garage, as it is mainly an inconvenience and only occurs when warm I didn't fix it. |

So it appears I probably should have taken the £500 part ex from the Garage I am open to offers below the grand I stated though however I think I might shop around and see if I can get a better price from an independent garage and get the injector problem fixed.
