Default Ford Probe GT VS Ford Capri 2.8 INJECTION Who will Win ;)

Evening how's everybody, Lordy is getting ready for WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

myself and my mate have decided too that its time too see which of our sports coupes is the best, Great mates and friendly rivalry I say bring it on.

Also getting my roll cage sorted as well and local too which is great
just need the bucket seats and a four point harness and I'm ready too go.

If all goes well that is.

Wyn Lloyd is 100% the man for the job
Other question I have is regarding the dashboard, this thing weighs quite a bit and lightness is key.
Question I want too ask is this.
If I were remove the dashboard and make sure everything's all secure and work also roll cage installed too compensate for this still want too be able too use this as a road and track car.
Will it still be MOT passable?

Dave, don't worry about shedding weight, the capri will spin out on every corner!!

And you will stick to the road following that mammoth burger you ate the other night

A roll cage seems excessive, living with one would be a pain. What's your mod list on the Probe?

Hiya too be honest with the car being stripped of the interior in the last two years gone quite used too it now and having a roll cage wouldn't be a problem.

More then anything I need too keep the weight of the car down as much possible try and get that 0 to 60 timer faster.

Mod list is this.
KLZE cams
KLZE crankshaft
KLZE Fuel injectors.
Also added MX6 Saloon brakes discs and pads including Callipers ready too go on when the probes brakes need changing.
Duel Exhaust system + DE-cat with stainless headers.
So far that's it still want too do more but just got too take my time.

Cool, have you thought about the straight neck and port matching? Had one on my MX6 back many many years ago (miss that car) and it really helped.

Always wanted to supercharge it but at the time it wasn't possible as my autobox blew up.

Hi Dave

You’ve not said how you will decide which is best but whether it’s a drag race or a circuit race / track day, get some lightweight wheels and good tyres. Best place to save weight whilst getting the best out of your suspension and adding grip. Could go for a half cage to the rear to stiffen it a bit and add safety without compromising daily use. Lightweight seats also a good next step.

Default Update on track car/ Road car.

Manged too do some more and removed the heater blower and the heater matrix, tided all up and now everything works again.

Still need too sort the dash clocks tho, have too admit I'm struggling what I can do with them, at the moment its held on by tiebacks and small amount of silicone sealant, which too me isn't good enough I want it solid so it will pass the MOT and the FIA lads will be happy with the set up.

Making a track race car and road car is a pain in the beep.

Still it should be all fine.

Ordered these beauty's.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMP-TR-S-...YAAOSwFMZWrHBE

and these as well.

The next step is the roll cage now regarding this I'm a bit thingy with it, There's two options you got the bolt on or a fully welded one.

Both qualify with the FIA However soon due motorsport health and safety, all cages have too welded on too compete.

You know what that means, Prices will be going up like anything too get these cages welded.

Been quoted £650 all in for mine too be made and fabricated.

From what I've learned that I can only compete in certain races, while with the fully welded one your able toom do them all, I need think abouyt that one.

With the extra weight gone have too say she's a bit better on fuel and she's more lively, Less load on the battery and alternator with hardly anything connected just the things I need too keep it road legal.

Also planning too ask the Caearfron airport too see if I'm allowed if nots busy its a only a small airport rescuer helicopters.

I want too give the probe a run on the stretch and see the difference for myself propyl.

Should be fun if I can arrange it and film it too.
