Have managed to go with the cheaper cost BUt the folk who were trying to renew it automatically said they didnt take cancellations by e mail etc.
Anyway. Have got all but £20 credited by them to my Credit card from which the premium was taken and have just received a cheque for £20 being the difference in the premium they took and the credit they paid back to the credit card.
WHY not do it all as a credit to the credit card??? No idea but now have the bank the cheque.

Neither my wife or myself have ever had an accident in 60 odd years of driving, so what the 'ell's going on?

Default Insurance

It's just outrageous beyond belief, same thing happened to me, my insurance broker emailed to say my current insurer wd no longer insure me, so another provider wanted triple the rate. I was forced to cancel and shop round, but ended up with inferior brand at almost double what I was paying. This after 5 years with no claims or incidents.

I wonder if any of our members who have an EV would care to reveal what the market thinks. Just sayin'.

Easy question to answer you/we are being ripped off.

I was with Hastings direct for 10yrs until last September when they said that they could not give me a quote on my Freelander 2 ?

This was questioned by me and they said the company they use does not give a reason?

I found out that because it is a Land Rover it is more likely to be stolen, so that was the reason.

Rover 75 Tourer Auto with them went up by £100 took that out until it was sold a few weeks later, got a full refund.

I am now with Churchill & Aviva for my FL 2 cars both have doubled in cost.

Is it the car that is insured or the person, if both why call it car insurance.

We are being ripped off and we all know it.

I don't mind the compulsory bit so much as if it wasn't there would be many more choosing to drive uninsured. What gets my goat is that I'm taxed for doing the right thing and taking out insurance. What a load of masturbators our governments and MP's are.

Absolutely. The higher the premium ... the more revenue for the treasury with insurance tax !! Is this all they can do , just think of new tax income revenues .. mostly aimed at hard working joe ? Tax revenues are essential but it gets to the point of ridicule. At least the farmers are trying to hit back , we all accept it . I wonder when the house of lords will have an extension built , its getting a bit crowded in there . Its time to look inwards for savings , not outwards for more taxes .... so just pay it ... just like me and smile ...
