Yeah I bet they're not looking forward to next season, They've been running well on last years Ferrari engine.

We need more engine manufacturers, I'd love to see a Cosworth F1 engine in the mix, Isn't that Mercedes engine designed & built by Brits down at Brackley!

Yes, its an Ilmor engine. the only thing German about the Merc car is the badge and the cash

These hybrid units are just to expensive and complicated for anyone without the backing of a multinational car giant to even attempt! I doubt we will see Cosworth back unless Ford chuck a fair few million into the pot.

It used to be possible for small independent's to compete at a fairly high level, remember Hart engines? Judd is another one that comes to mind. I doubt we will see anything like that era again.

Sadly most British Car Consumers who now fill UK car parks with Germanic product safe in knowing us Brits cannot cut it any more.

What a load of old cobblers.... note the inclusion of a Shoemaker and Northamptonshire connection ...

Double sadly because all this means it's unlikely I shall ever again be able to buy a British Built MG or Rover as I have had the pleasure to do many times in the past...

Thanks a bunch UK consumers and I include cushioned against reality Clueless Clarkson in the spearhead of the bunch!

Grrrrh!

OK ... I'll ..
The fuzzy headed apeman of topgear fame did play his part, however, the entire workforce standing around a burning oil drum outside the front gate for most of the 1970's and 80's probably didn't help much either.

They knew how to run the factory MUCH better than the management. Their shop steward had it all written down on the back of his fag packet!

Bit of a thread hijack going on here........

Not sure the politics involved in the collapse of MG-Rover has much to do with the Monaco Grand Prix
