Glad it was a simple fix, pity you needed a 250 mile round trip to sort it

Dad's car is back, just in time for Christmas, jobs due this time round are,
New windscreen Rectify juddering under acceleration on left hand bends New upper engine mount Full service New rear shock absorbers maybe springs Replace the interior rear light As for the juddering, not too sure really, it only does it under acceleration on left hand bends. Hardly noticeable on straight line acceleration and doesn't do it on right hand bends at all. I have sourced a pair of driveshafts and will give these a go as it has been suggested that this may be the cause, I have also read that worn lower arm joints may cause similar, and worse case scenario, the DMF may need replacing again, despite having a new LUK DMF fitted in February this year. At 150,000 miles, things must have worn out, it is just so difficult to see which part is causing the juddering. Dad has said that there is clutch judder too, but I cannot make it do it at all. Plus it would appear that the car is due it's annual wash. Last edited by rich17865; 20th December 2015 at 17:23.. |

The car has been washed and a new engine mount from Dmgrs sourced.
Just had a call about a new windscreen for £100 all in, so just waiting to hear back for when it can be done. |

So far this Christmas,
Dad's car has had...... New windscreen and wipers Full service A pair of replacement driveshafts Front shocks and top mounts Rear shocks and top mounts New engine hydramount Still to do before Sunday, Front lower arms and bushes Bleed clutch system 4 wheel alignment It did have a 4 wheel alignment back in February, but all four tyres are wearing on the outside edge, which suggests it has been a victim of today's terrible Road network again. I would like to thank Mat at www.dmgrs.co.uk for his exceptional service over the holiday period Last edited by rich17865; 31st December 2015 at 15:30.. |
