Agreed. The only sensible outcome.

common sense prevails. Its an ugly pistol mind the glock, nicknamed the plastic pig. Although very effective nonetheless in CQB. Irony? you can have a gun to kill in the name of queen and country but woe betide you if you want one for fun.

i'm not really sure it's that good a result, i agree it's great for him to be free especially for xmas, but it's still a guilty verdict, and ruined his record and apparrently not finished yet. to think what yobs get away with these days and one of our guardians get's treated like this is diabolical in my opinion, unless of course there's more to it but i don't what

The difference between the original sentence and revised one, in judicial terms, is remarkable and in these circumstances tantamount to acquittal. Although of course the 'Guilty' verdict stands. So it should, the offence was committed after all, and was admitted. There many soldiers that return home with similar 'trophys' in full knowledge of the penalties. But there does appear to have been an attempt at face saving on behalf of the original Judge Advocate Alistair McGrigor. I refer to my post no.4 and repeat; his judicial record should be investigated. Given the sheer contempt the MOD demonstrate towards their rank and file people though, I doubt that will happen.

I admire men with his courage and bravery, would that I had that, but are we sure that such men as these heroes should be allowed cart blanché to do as they please with illegal weapons? And three hundred rounds?

I'm glad he has been freed and hope an example stands for others in similar circumstances.
