Default XTRONS/Android HU Seek/Fastfoward control

Hi,

Just preliminarily hooked up an Xtrons from Jubbs, seems to be ok so far, aside from the shocking radio ariel connector which was so stiff it would have damaged the unit, so a trip to the shops for a better one...

Liking the stuff so far, but Ive a big problem with the steering wheel controls with SEEK/Fastforward not working.

I programmed it up fine, wired it up fine, all the buttons work, but when the track forward and track back buttons are programmed for >> or "seek up" and vice versa, holding the button down for the "long press" does not do any seeking! It just pops to the next track, which is the short press that is programmed.

Sure I can reach accross and use the seek on the screen, but not if the Navigation is on.

Anyone found a work around? I tried >> << and seek up and seek down, and they all do exactly the same.

Its the same for the volume, I wanted to have the volume down button mute the stereo on a long press.

Its quite infuriating!

I have a similar issue with an Alpine. Although my issue is slightly different, it does make me wonder if it is a firmware/software issue on the head unit. On my old Kenwood (aftermarket, replacing a CR80), I seem to recall holding the steering control would FF through a track, whereas on the Alpine, will move to the next/previous folder. Being a mechless unit, I cannot check if this applies only to USB/mp3 operation or is the same as a CD (the Kenwood would seek in both input options).

I think its because the SWC is analogue and not a digital interface like it is in the BMW which is why they come with the CANBUS decoder for the BMW cars.

When you press a SWC button whether its a short press or a long press it will give the same resistance reading regardless, so the stereo wont know your doing a long press instead of a short press.

I will try it on my Android 6 version stereo to see what it does later.

Thanks
