Funny you should mention the bacon Bob as it's my intention to have bacon sandwiches before I cycle off for my late shift; luckily the wind has dropped to a manageable level.

Good morning Fred, thats two things I miss and that is bacon sandwiches and cycling. One of my free lance jobs before I retired, involved visiting the detention centre near Heathrow and escorting illegals back to their home countries. Sometimes I would have to do the escorts on my own but if they had a history of doing a runner, I would be lucky to have a Group 4 guy with me. Common destinations for the illegals were Nigeria, Jamaica and the Gambia. That was before the boat refugees era. Have a great day

Morning all - a bit brighter today, with a touch f son - and it's a fair few degrees warmer than yesterday too.
We got our weekly food order, courtesy of our daughter, last night, so we'll get through another week without starving to death. I forgot to put cider on the shopping list I gave her - I'll have to dig out another bottle of wine

Glorious sunny morning here.
And warming up but that wind is still nippy. Some metalwork to do today with the brackets for our guttering. Whoever set them thought that just a few mm of guttering for the rain to pour into off the tiles would be OK. . So there's about a dozen that need to be pulled out, "lengthened" by about 60mm and driven back into the wall. Last edited by AndyN01; 12th May 2020 at 13:03.. |

LOL Must be the same guys he brings in to wind up his Rolex watches. Talk about bangin' yer head against a wall! I've been trying to renew my licence & whenever I use any .GOV site those drop down question boxes never have owt to do with my details! The DVLA says I'm not who I am & I have given wrong details Er No I haven't given wrong details. I managed to speak to a human being after almost losing the will to live waiting & got a little further with the online questions only to be stumped right at the end If you don't have a passport whereby they can lift your passport picture & signature from then you cant proceed any further AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!! I've never had a passport in me life. My only other option is to take the renewal form to the post office in town to have a new picture taken there (never knew they did that!!!) to send off with the form and 21quid. I'm not sure if the main post office is open! besides The confirmed cases of covid-19 in my postcode area are rising & stand at 903 today and I'm certainly not going outside yet.

Ah, the joy of life in the Hebrides.
Rain battering down, tried to sleet earlier. Wind knocked over the garden chairs during the night. No chance of getting the ZT finished, or she could be going for her retest this week. Working from home today, but obviously self discipline poor! |
