First l would like to thank Kandyman for all his help today

l took the balance vis motor off and stripped it down, checked for dry joints and cleaned out oil. What l did notice was the butterfly valve was struck tight, had to remove and give it a good clean and a little trim and now it`s moving nice and free, could this have stopped the vis motor working.

Without a doubt, look at the back of the PCB especially underneath the relay where the tracks are very thin, check for broken tracks. If you find broken tracks you can solder a hardwire in from point to point on the PCB

Hi,
I am a real newbie and have spent the last 2 days reading up on loads of threads and getting to know what makes these cars tick. I'm feeling like a teenager again cos I'm already smitten with my 75. It was really unloved when I got it but I'm starting to get it looking something now and it's just such a pleasure to drive.
Trouble is I'm turning into a bit of hypochondriac, I am reading something and then thinking oh no I could have that and this thread is one of them!
I've got a 2.0 V6 conn auto and wouldn't mind getting the VIS's checked, is there anyone else in sleepy Norfolk who has a tester and could help?
I've already found the breather 'T' piece is u/s and now looking for the replacement pipes. That's what actually brought me to the site but I can see I could become an regular visitor.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hope someone nearby can help you.
The T4, the diagnostic computer for our cars can also tell you but only generally available at XPart Garages.
Some members also have them prices from £30 a session.

The Club VIS tester is only available to Subscribed members but there is a separate post going up due to number of people waiting on list.

The List is now Closed until I catch up.
Sorry about that.

Default VIS tester

Hi there.
I have a 2002 zt-t - do you think I need to check these?
Would they pick this up at the service on the computer?

Thanks

Wouldn't be picked up on a service unless you also had a T4 session at the same time, then still may not be picked up unless they looked at fault codes. definately worth a check

I have made my own VIS tester and so if anyone in Norfolk or North Suffolk (maybe even further afield, I travel most of East Anglia with work) would like to borrow it they are more than welcome.
PM me.

Thanks for that - sorry for my delay in replying - too much work, not enough time.
Is there anyone in Sussex, Brighton area who would have a tester?

A couple opf other oddities: my exhaust rattles at low revs when cold;
Also, my remote audi controls dont work, have looked and checked with radio fitters, and the loom seems to be missing the connections. On top of this, the AM ariel doesn't seem to be connected, not sure how to check.
I have a funny feeling this car might have been an unmarked poice vehicle - any ideas?
