Hi David, um, no not really I have been moving my parents to their new flat (very stressful period in my life, wouldn't do that again in a hurry I can tell you!) and I have been doing 10 and 12 hour days at work trying to catch up with the workload.
But, good news is that over the Christmas period I did manage to get a couple of days out in my freezing garage, and I have fitted the headlining which is quite an interesting job to do by yourself I had to remove the wiring loom from the headlining that I had from the donor 75 and fit the ZT SE loom because 005 will have rain sensor, auto dimming mirror and interior ultrasonic sensor. The loom came from 577 and was longer, also there is no provision for the high level brake light on an estate car, so a couple of mods were needed. The lining is now in and I have also fitted 005 with illuminated vanity mirrors as well as the all important PPD drivers grab handle I also installed the folding rear seat option (interior courtesy of my 75 Contemporary) but the release mechanism has decided to jam with the seat locked in place time to exit the sub zero garage and go indoors in the warm and put my feet up. I will return another day, with sabre saw in hand, and teach the rear catch mounts a well deserved lesson!!!
I will pop some pictures on as soon as I can

Hi guys, all is not lost, weather is improving! I have sneaked a few hours in over the last few weeks and 005 is now back on track. I have located nearly all of the missing engine & front suspension parts now and just need to arrange a day trip to collect. The front bumper, rear bumper, parking sensors & rear spoiler have gone off for paint and I have been busy with all of the small "I'll do that job later" bits. I'll pop some pictures on as soon as I have some viewable results worth posting.
Rest assured, number 5 is still, most definitely, alive!

Well done, John. At some point, I must pop down and swap your logbook for my wheels - well it's a good reason to have a nose.

Sorry Guys, all is not lost and number 5 is most definitely still alive but due to work commitments ( I am building a large horsebox at the moment, nearly 24/7) I have had to postpone all work on 005. I should finish Horsebox within the next couple of months, but in the meantime I have been collecting & sourcing much needed MG parts and will resume with a vengeance!!!

John,
Is the V8 to tow the horse box with horse inside, or the horse to tow the horse box to events with the V8 inside?!!

Keep up the good work-you deserved a break from the V8 for a bit. They say change is as good as a rest....

Best wishes

Kevin

Hi Kevin, cheers mate, I have been working pretty hard on 005 for quite some time now and I have had a few moments and choice words with the old girl at times never mind, as they say, I've started so I'll finish!!! I did locate all the body panels from a breaker, in Le Mans Green! they're all fitted now and I must say this must be the closest to a complete vehicle she's been for many years! The interior from my contemporary is all in and I have sourced a lot of the missing engine parts. I will be back full time pretty soon and it is my hope to have the car completed before the end of the summer, and hopefully before fuel prices make 260's obsolete
On the horsebox front, fortunately it is the motorised type and will move under its own steam, I certainly wouldn't want to tow anything with a 260, have you seen the price of fuel lately
