Apex Wheel Refurb
My Apex alloys are starting to look a bit sorry for themselves as the lacquer (particularly on the rears) appears to have worn away thus the silver / chrome finish is also wearing away. My question is I really like that kind of smokey chrome-like finish - can anyone recommend a paint that I could use to get them back to looking like new? The alternative of course is just to repaint them 'boring' silver!
I see Halfords have an Alloy Wheel Repeair Kit for £30 which would seem to be the business - anyone have any experience of this? As ever, any pointers most welcome! |

There's a place right next to Prestwick Airport that does wheels and it's only about £40 a wheel. First class job they come out like new.
Details Websites rubbish...service is ace! Even worth a run down to visit and have a look at his work. |

just my opinion but I think they will look pants if you refurbish them in Silver- there are some metallic grey/platinum colours that will be very close to the original finsh- worth a trip to halfords and look at the colours in spraycans.

Completely agree - hence my 'boring' silver jibe! I'll try and get down to Halfords at the weekend and see what they've got.

I like boring silver
Trouble with the darker finishes is the wheels still look dirty even after you've cleaned them IMO
