Default topfunbox.com

Any computer experts out there?

When I load my lap top computer up and go to google search, When I type my search into the search bar I keep getting something called topfunbox.com coming up. which overrides everything else. I have looked in the programs but cant find it to delete/remove it. And at some point it says It will run in the background.

Does anyone have any idea on how to remove it??

It has to be a browser extension. Check another browser to see if it happens there as well.

Extensions are managed in your browser but the location in the menu varies depending on the browser you're using.

OK, Thanks for the reply.

This topbox thing appears to be a Google app,As it only appears when using google. when you do a search it automatically goes to this topfunbox.com thing and the only way to get out of it is to switch off completely and then reboot but this may take several times to do this.

I use the free version of Superantispyware and it should resolve your issue

https://www.superantispyware.com/

Be warned if you let it delete all your cookies... You will likely haves 1000's you may find your pc forgets log in details if you let it autocomplete to log into sites although once you have logged back in it will remember subsequently.

Umm yeah, you've just told me that with what you say above (no offence intended). Look, I can make some suggestions if you like, but your level of knowledge is minimal indeed, and you might be better taking it to somebody.

Some of these things can actually be removed using the computer's own uninstallation routine, but if you don't know how to do that, honestly, I'd say you stand a chance of making things worse

If you want to – and I’d say you’re taking a risk if this stuff doesn't mean much to you – click in the “Search” box near the bottom left of your screen, and type “add” (without the “”). Top result which comes up should be “Add or remove programs” – click on that.

A list of installed programs (apps) will appear below, in alphabetical order; scroll down and see if topfunbox appears in the list.

If it does, click once on it then choose “Uninstall”.

If you decide to have a go, let us know
