Thanks Andy.

I'll take a few pics of the install as I'm doing it.

It should be quite straight forward - famous last words, I know

I really hope customs are nice to me, but with my luck

BTW, I hope the watches don't get caught for customs duties

What a find (in my opinion).

The silver trim could be covered with walnut......lol

Customs charges aren't really that bad......I imported several (20) popular hand consoles at just under £700, I got collared by customs, they wanted £33......Needless to say I sent the cheque pronto.....

It's down to what is on the paperwork, many sellers state that the item is a gift.......Need I say more???

Now for the double din fascia....
According to most retailers, the Ipod cable was to have been available "Summer 2007".

Have you heard anything more specific please?

Most US Seller of this item will not agree to do this .

The only one that would agree to it wanted $130 dollars to post the item

I could not find it for sale online anywhere so I emailed Eclipse Customer Support. They confirmed that it is not yet for sale.

AFAIK, the unit is only on sale for a few months so I suppose the accesssories may take a bit of time.

I still think running Tom Tom on my Nokia N73 is a great solution, especialy when used with a hands free kit. You always take the phone with you so it can't get nicked!

You can remove the TomTom PND from the Eclipse HU

Some more info on the Eclipse:

Get it here for $285  http://www.cardomain.com/item/ECLAVN2210P. Looks like they do not ship outside the US but there are ways around this also. I paid $470 in total for mine.

The European version will be known as AVN2227p: http://www.eclipse-web.com/eu/en/AVN2227P/index.html. Should be on sale soon.

They confirm the use of vehicle speed information for short term update as well.

Just as soon as the proper Ipod lead is released...

In the meantime, PLEASE let us know how long delivery took, what the import duty was and how it sounds.

Would also be keen to know how you modified your fascia please.

BTW

I bet it costs the Dollar price in Pounds when it is actually on sale in the UK
