Hollow Tree Meet Sunday 18th November
Following another great meet today, welcoming some new members and having a good time, here's the details for the next one.
This months Sunday meet is going to be at the Hollow Tree in Stretton on 18th November at 1pm. The Hollow Tree is a great family pub with excellent food. On the Sunday there is a carvery, which is 2 courses for £15.49 and it is 2 for 1 so is a real bargain. Plus there is a kids play area for a small charge. We are kindly given the use of the car park by the landlord to host our meets, which gives us great opportunity to tinker and play with our cars. It is an ideal opportunity for new members to get their latest purchase the once over by the experienced members. Also to meet and chat to others that have an interest in the marque. I will be there obviously, (tools and spares in the boot) and all are welcome. Please be aware that regional meets are not official 75 & ZT Owners Clubs meets and as such are not covered by the clubs public liability insurance. Also the Owners Club take no responsibility for the meet in any way. |

I'll try and be there, I've got a feeling I'm on holiday for 3 weeks then, so I'll be able to arrive alive and kicking instead of body clock nightmare mode from working nights and living days during the weekend hahaha!!
Will be good to see you all again! |

Help for Newcomers
Hi Rich
I understand that (yet again!) people turned round and went home, because they couldn't suss out who and where the club members were. To save this happening again, how about one or more of the following: 1) I could make signs to put up in the pub / on the table(s) and have them laminated; 2) Mobile 'phone numbers could be PMd to newcomers who express the intention of attending; 3) We could put "mugshots" on the thread (though this may have a deterrent effect)? Answers on a postcard, please. Must admit, I had a similar problem when we went to the Weymouth meet and hadn't met anyone before. We sat by the door in the restarant and I had no idea when everyone walked straight past us. Luckily I had the mobile number of Ian (Redfive). Oh, and I take it there will be an evening meeting Wednesday 7th November? Robert

Some good idea's there Robert especially the mobile number - I don't mind mine being used .
As it was we must have only missed seeing them by minutes on Sunday - probably too busy munching Oh and yes I understand we'll be having the evening meet on the 7th and hopefully I'll be there on the 18th as well. |

Well said Robert.
After all, when seated, our members, whilst not looking entirely "normal" don't look too out of place do they.. Did non of have your tee shirts on? No name tags? tsk tsk The newbie should have told the bar staff to announce that one of the cars was on fire, that may have worked innit... I wont mention that Robert failed to materialise during said meeting will I.... Not that I missed him, it's difficult to miss someone who isn't among the targets innit.. lmho.. ... |

I have the large NW area flag/ poster at home & I must admit to forgetting it on Sunday, but that still wouldn't have identified the members eating in the pub. If a member spotted 10 75's in the allotted car park why turn round & go home, we couldn't have been far away?

I see our NWRS has changed his avatar. I think it might have been a good idea to use a picture of himself, rather than some slim and handsome catalogue model. It's only going to confuse people even more if they're expecting to see someone that good looking.
