Default Radiator outlet elbow.

The car is a Rover 75 1.8 non turbo.
Just a quick question really. I've just ordered one of those stainless steel radiator outlet elbows from Rimmers.
Does this need a paper gasket when fitting, or do the o rings do the job and make it watertight?

It needs an o-ring as per the original version.

Thanks for the advice t cut.
I received the new stainless steel elbow today and will be fitting it on Sunday. Has anybody else fitted one of these? It was supplied with 2 o rings. Do I just use one, or both?

I had a bit of unexpected time today, so I thought I'd put the new outlet on. Simple job isn't it. No it's not. Got the top bolt out no problem. Bottom bolt started to loosen, then started turning and turning and turning. So tomorrow I've got to find a way of holding the captive nut still while I get the bolt out hopefully. It's got to be done now coz it's leaking. It looks like bumper off and headlight out at least, just for a bit more access.

Tiny flat screwdriver poked in the side of the brass nut, lots of penetrating oil and work the bolt backwards and forwards gently until it releases.

Cheers trikey. I tried that, but that bolt was in the brass nut solid. In the end I took the bumper off, offside headlight out, and had to cut the thing out with a Dremel. Fitted the new elbow and it looks like I've cracked it. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days. This is a very condensed version, it took me bloomin' ages. Needed it done, I've got an early start on Monday.

So did it actually need two o-rings? If so, it's a poor design. O-rings shouldn't be have to be butted together to make a seal.
