Default Tailgate glass won't close! Advice needed.

My rear wiper had slowed then stopped working a few weeks ago and today I did a quick journey to the tip and I noticed a burning smell coming from the rear wiper area. Checked fuse 42 was OK, so thought I'd run the rear wiper to see if the motor was burnt out. So opened the tailgate glass and used the screwdriver in the catch area to simulate the glass being closed.

However I think I pushed the screwdriver too far in as now I can't close the glass at all... See pic. I can't seem to push it back with the screwdriver... any advice on how to recover from this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Default

Drama over! I was looking at thinking I'd have to take the whole thing apart and suddenly there were a series of clicks from the locking mechanism and all went back to normal.
