In the late 80s and early 90s Vauxhall used to use AC Delco batteries and I recall taking them in part exchange well over 10 years old 130k plus miles with the original battery.
They don't make them like they used to.

Thats true. my car (yr 2002), had it's original Delphi battery when I purchased it in 2009. Finally replaced in 2010. (battery life 8 years).

I have a Toyota Yaris on a 02 plate and still on the original battery, not sure what make it is, but not complaining though.

I know where there are some brand new and unfilled Oldham Batteries from the 80's, I might consider getting a couple now this thread reminded me.

Don't forget that batteries on older cars would gave probably been under less load for their lifespan, still amazing that they last that long!

I'm surprised it was still readable. I have taken to photocopying any receipts so they can be read at the end of the guarantee period.
I have a halfords battery receipt that is 3 years old, and looks like a blank piece of paper...
