I'm going to fit the early black expansion tank, they look better than those later opaque versions. It will suit the rest of the black articles under the bonnet.

The only difference that I know of is the material in which the two items are constructed from. They were fitted to early V6 models, as well as the other variants.
Early diesel models had a 100 rated cap while other versions were fitted with 140 variant. I would of thought that if the cap was serviceable and in decent working order it shouldn't create a problem. Secondly, Project Drive could have played a part here, the black version could have been more expensive to produce. |

That would make sense. Everything else is the same, so cant really see why they would have a different rating, but I'm sure I read it somewhere.
