Battery Drain / No SatNav & Radio problems
Hi I Have a problem on my X reg R75 ConSE
The standby current is cycling between 700mA - 1A causing a flat battery. At the same time, the entertainment display has a number of problems. The font has changed on the Radio and CD displays (see picture). No RDS. The SatNav option has disapeared from the menu options. The SatNav CD unit in the boot has the LEDs flashing/alternating and won't eject. Please help! Any idea's what unit has failed ? |

It sounds like the SatNav computer is stuffed.
Simply check, open the boot, and the red lamp should go off in less then 60 seconds. Any longer and it's goosed. Don't open or close any other doors as it will restart the shut down cycle.

When you say the SatNav computer, is that the thing in the spare wheel well ?
Come to think of it the car was washed hours before the problem happened. |

No its in the boot on the drivers side.
The boxes in the wheel well are the TV and Radio tuners. Sat nav may have just got iself confused or has damp inside. If you remove this following the correct shutdown procedure Leave in airing cupboard or a dry warm place overnight and it may be ok See below for how to shutdown http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...read.php?t=109 |

thanks very much.
removing the satnav cd unit has fixed the current drain. Now 77mA alarm off, 80mA alarm on. Radio display still odd. Boot is nice and dry. At least car driveable now though. Thank you |
