Default 2.5 V6 Hesitation! Suggestions and opinions?

And here we go again.

The ZT has started giving me a hesitation whenever I put the foot down, or accelerate in a firm manor. Noticed it when driving back from mechanic.

Now im thinking its gotta be oil related since the oil spray went everywhere, id cleaned the car today around the belts and everything, theres no issues that way. Car revs fine when NOT in gear, but when driving it happens in random gears and at random revs, so its not 100% defined to one section.

I did spill a bit of oil when topping up into the area near the spark plug, so it makes me think that MAYBE its the plug not sparking right, but if its in tight and right there wouldnt be much chance of oil getting in.

Suggestions?

Maf?
Coil packs?
Fueling issue?

Plenty of oil in the engine, coolant and all is 100% perfect now, so im lost. Had a few searches but its all 1.8T and CDTi releated mostly for the hesitation searches.

Anyone?

Right, the warning light (the one that looks like a tap) came on yesterday when the car was warming up, so ive booked into BXR cars to get Trever to have a look at whats up with the engine.

Cleaned EVERYTHING in the engine down, checked most things I can etc.

Hope its not serious. Know around 10am tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear it mate I really am. When I had my old zr it hesitated and the warning light came on. It turned out to be the leads had perished. I know it's a v6 but maybe good luck and let us know how you get on

If it's a later than 2001 model, it could be the early signs of FFS.

A conclusion to my woes.

Coil pack had died for the rear bank causing a misfire, then it died leaving the check engine/warning light on constantly. Cylinder 6 was where it started.

Had new packs and plugs replaced as my front plug in cylinder 1 had split twice. These where brand new only four thousand miles ago.

Hope thats some use to some one. When the cylinder miss fires it causes six flashes of the warning light.

Now running smoother than a virgins thighs!
