I've just encountered the dreaded bonnet release problem! Can anyone help?

Thanks chaps. I persevered and managed to release the bonnet by releasing the cable from its lever assembly and pulling it with pliers. I think I'll get a new one! However, I'll take your advice and contact a mod. for future event - just in case!
