Two cars back I had a Saab 9000 Griffin - a 200 bhp car that certainly looked like an old man's car but could seriously shift. With all the torque it was particularly good in the crucial 50-70 type accelerating - a great Q car. When I first had this car (sadly gone - I still miss it) I used to take it to a Saab dealer for service and they would lend me 95 Aero's - fantastic Q cars! Was very tempted to get one when getting the 75 but price difference for a good one was still to great and I do not need the speed although Saab equally well specced c.f R75.

Does anyone remember the supercharged Simca?

A real Q car.

Did 0-100mph is about 100-150 yards, problem was is had drum brakes all round - yikes. Thankfully at the time, petrol was cheap as at full chat I used a tank of fuel (ok only 7gallons) in 20 miles!
In my daft boy racer days we once stuck a 1775 maxi engine in an old 850 mini it was very very scary

I had an old 1.3 Marina in which I fitted a 1.8 TC engine. Was mental through the 1.3 gearbox and rear end.It was Brown with a Brown Vinyl roof and a Brown interior(Called it the T**D).That car shocked a lot of folks. But was heavier on fuel than my V8 P6
