Default Is it possible....

to keep your car interior clean, if you have a dog in the car from time to time?
If so, anyone got any pics and tips of what protection, cleaning methods to apply?

Roof box.... or Woof! box

Hohum..

If it's a tourer then dog cage plus plastic matting in boot area should help. I've had a dog in the back of my saloon on a few occasions and we covered most of the interior with plastic decorating sheets to stop muddy paws on things but it still doesn't stop the dog hair floating about the cabin though

Just Basic Hard Work sometimes.
It does of course depend on the type of dog you have.
The Alsatian fits nicely in but sheds a Bucket full of hair.
I do have the fitted Rubber Liner for the Tourer Tailgate section and rest of car generally keeps Clean,
except for hair.
Wet nose marks on rear screen can be a Pain and look unsightly.

Hmm, I am very fussy about my car. You should see my saloon, its spotless inside, I am looking at changing to a tourer, with leather. I will get the dog guard and rubber mat. I want a Greyhound, as I have allergies to hair and Greyhounds don't shed much hair and they don't make you sneeze! (Looking at rescue dogs.)

You could shave the dog, but I don't suppose the dog would be too happy!

We've got 2 Labradors (Black & Golden) which are terrible for shedding hair.

What I do is use an old double sheet. It has 6 holes in it - where the rear headrests go through. It then gets tucked inbetween the rear seat & backrest, plus the sides and the remainder drops to the floor. It keeps the hair off the seats & muddy paw prints too.

Afterwards, it's just a quick vacuum on the floor & wipe the slobbers from the plastics. Jobs a good un.

I could really do with an estate for them, or a hatchback.

If your vacuum won't lift the hair, go over the surfaces with a rubber glove.

Lurchers would be another Good Bet then or Whippets.

What do you mean?

Does that setup really keep it all clean?

I wouldn't say it keeps it 100% clean, but it sure as hell helps!

Rubber glove. If there's hair on the carpet or seat that won't come off with a vacuum, put a rubber glove on and 'stroke' the area. It gathers the hair up into a lump!

When the dogs get groomed, after their brushing we glove them, it helps remove more loose hair. For 5 minutes anyway.

No, I'm a doggy person. I am really missing the dogs that live at my parents that I used to live with, I miss them even more now the eldest passed on, hence my latest hairbrain idea of getting a dog.

John, I really like the whippet idea. Now need to find a rescue one.
