Sadly the Police won't intervene in any situation these days. They, and the law, both seem to be on the perpetrators side rather than the victim's.

Yeah, I agree. Such a shame too, that he hopes to one day meet someone and get married. I hope he does find someone.

I think you may find that the Police would love to intervene in cases like this. They can only act within the law and the 'interpretation' our courts make of these.
We all know the trouble there is when the Police are deemed to be overstepping the mark.

Scum like this deserve far more than 4 years ( read more like two) in jail
