Do you have a virus checker on the phone? if so use that to check.
Do you have a lot of free apps because it sounds like it`s coming from one of them.
Find the app that`s doing it and uninstall it.
Last resort is factory reset but you don`t want to do that if you can get rid by other means.
Good luck.
Ken.

Android or iPhone?

This happened recently to my iPhone 2 weeks ago. I had kept a backup via iCloud and was able to do a reset to its original factory state.

I suspect people might be adverse giving advice in case something goes wrong with your phone, so what ever your choose to do has to be you decision and not on the advice of another member.

I used mcafee antivirus and did a scan. One suspect file was found and deleted.
Happy days, hope the same for you.

My missus has been getting those 'pop up' virus scam notices on her Android. I've told her not to click on them & get an anti-virus app on it. https://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/a...-spam-message/

I have had unexplained adverts on my phone, forget which now and was only twice. I did find an app they were related to and don`t think it was what the link was talking about.

I'm reckoning it's just Google search way of getting you to buy antiviral from them.it did come from Google after all.

I keep getting a pop up saying I've won a iPhone, every couple of weeks it'll appear but only when I'm on photbucket. I just restart my phone and it goes away for another 2 weeks. It's really irritating when it pops up

Yes read about that thanks, I do have an Motorola Android phone but only Apps are those installed OEM - phone used only for txts and calls apart from BBC News, Weather etc. all other internet use by computer not phone, risk of virus or malware very low as a result and no useful data to steal from me.

Never visit Google store for anything on any type of equipment, must be an age thing, happy to leave all that the younger generation.
