Harmony unit was factory coded so always active unless deactivated by owner or his garage.

Symphony was dealer activated by request on purchase of vehicle, as dealerships almost never asked - majority were left uncoded.

My Harmony isn't coded though l have the number in the paperwork. I assume the coding has been disabled in the past.

Time was when all car radio's were targets for theft, the modern versions are less attractive as technology marches onwards, what was once a common sight to see cars with ripped out radio's is now less so, the case for active codes is thus reduced.

Checked mine, it doesn't say code enabled when switched on, so I might be lucky!

Accessing the code by phoning Lynsey Pemberton cost me £15. Only found out today as she's been away.

I had to take my battery off at the weekend to try and sort an issue, and the radio came right back on, so no code required, thank goodness.
