Default Windows 10. How do I stop my laptop automatically "upgrading" to Windows 10?

For the past year it's been popping up with the offer of "upgrading to W10".

Last night I came back to my laptop to find it was already in the middle of the "upgrade".

Is there a way of stopping Windows 10 replacing my Windows 7 Professional.

I desperately do not want Windows 10.

Apologies for posting this here but i really need a quick fix for this. My laptop is a business tool and Windows 10 isn't for me.

I used the instructions from this site.

No problems since.

In the same boat.
Refused the offer for weeks and then about three days ago I found it was already downloaded without my permission.

I am a happy Windows 10 user but you could try this link to remain '10 less' forever

or look here for alternative solutions

I found this on the net, in theory it prevents the update. https://www.grc.com/never10.htm

That's what we use at work, stops all the annoying pop ups, we had one computer come in the shop the other day (I work in a computer repair shop), and it only had 2 options, Upgrade Now, or Upgrade Later. Nothing for don't upgrade!

Just use GWX Control panel, you can uninstall the update that is giving you the nag and prevent any further Windows 10 download attempts.

Personally prefer windows 10 over 8 with classic shell.... windows 10 is what 8 should have been from day one.
If i was to go back it would be to win7, certainly not anywhere near win8
