Thumbs down Who thinks these terms up ??

Just listening to radio and I've heard a hospital Administrator refer to patients as Service Users .

Yet more absolute tosh thought up by some pen pusher.

For goodness sake if your in hospital your a flipping patient.

Rant over.

I was hospitalised for a few days recently and I can tell you that "patient" was exactly what I had to be! Arrived in A&E around 4pm and was told within a couple of hours that I'd have to be admitted. It was 2 in the morning when I finally got onto the ward ... they still insisted on waking everyone up at 6.15 for breakfast. Then I had to lie there waiting, staring at the ceiling & wishing I was still asleep for another four hours until a doctor saw me. Same routine every day.
It's not that I'm a lazy so & so - I would normally be up and working soon after 7 even on a weekend - but I have to say it was one thing that I found very frustrating. If someone's sick and they're sleeping, let them sleep!!

My late father used to talk about the time staff (woke him up) to give him a sleeping pill

We are all just a number on that merrygoround called life, when it stops turning we become just a statistic.

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Seen a great one yesterday were they called a basic mechanic an 'automotive component specialist'. Kindda fits but why try to posh up a mechanic?

NHS is terrible in general.

My Sister at 36 years old had a mini stroke just over a month ago and sat in AE for 2 hours to be seen. Yet they keep closing down more emergency rooms. It badly needs privatised.

I am tempted to quote the last two lines from the Galaxy song in Monty Python's "Meaning of life":

"And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
'Cause there's NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- all down here on Earth"
