Great job Cliff

That little Mini is now looking very proud, you can even see it smiling.

If you were to sell it, it would fetch so much more now.

I could probably have done with the brillo pad on those wheels .

Ouch! You're right though. Compared with the real thing, they're huge cars.

Only a bit of banter Cliff..............I'm actually quite a fan of the original Mk1 Binis The red/black combo looks great too!

Hi Cliff,

Does the phrase "Technique trumps product every time" sound familiar. .

She looks lovely.

Just don't copy the thread onto the DW forum .

Regards and Respect.

Very sound advice .

Todays little task was going to be a brief cleanup in the engine bay, but lo and behold, bonnet won't open . Looks like it's going to be a case of removing an arch liner to gain access. The folks who do my servicing have said if I can wait a couple of weeks I can pop over in the evening and they'll put it up on their ramps and sort it for me . At least it will be clean under there .

Suppose that's what you get for neglecting cars .

Cracking (not so)little cars and the little red one is starting to look great

I've always been rather dubious about them, but the missus decided that she wanted a change from her MG TF last year and we bought this one which has changed my mind

What did you do to the plastic trim?

Thanks . They're fun cars for sure. Different in many ways to the Rover, but you can see the family resemblance in the way some of the things work.

Got the dirt off by scrubbing it over with some Turtle Wax upholstery cleaner that I happened to have to hand, then dressed it with some Gyeon Q2 tyre dressing. To be honest, I find the plastic trim a nightmare to keep looking nice. The Gyeon usually lasts well on tyres, but not tried it on plastic trim before, so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up.

Feeling chuffed today . Decided to have a go at getting the bonnet open myself. Jacked the car up, wheel off, and attacked the arch liner. A couple of skrivets refused to budge, so had to be drilled out, but apart from that, all plain sailing and bonnet is now open .

Daft design though. The end of the inner part of the release cable is held in place by a small hook, and had become dislodged. Very easy to do, but just as easy to put it back (once you've gained access).
