Default Replacement Rear Light Seals

Could anyone who requires a set of seals kindly contact me via email by clicking on my Forum name to the left and using the email link.

It's difficult to reply to everyone via pm, so if you can use email that would be much appreciated.

Jeremy you're a star!
No sooner had I sent a pm to ask about my seals that the postman knocked at the door (or rather rang at the gate...)!

Thanks a lot. It's brilliant!

Question Surprise surprise...

After taking the seals out of their see-through plastic bag and comparing with the right old one I'd just taken off it appears that they were like twins!
Same shape fortunately indeed but mainly same thickness!

Why on earth are those seals well-known to be better than those fitted by MGR then???
I see only one likely explanation: 'project drive'.
The majority of us may have Longbridge cars where I guess they reduced the thickness of the seals, but my 75 is a Cowley built (1st July 1999) and seems to have been fitted with the best ones.
Am I wrong and missed anything?

Arnaud,

The original Rover seals were produced with a glued join - it was pennies cheaper to do that than produce them with no join. Over time the glue fails, the joint opens, and Hey Presto - water gets in.

The new seals are produced in one piece, so no joint to fail
